The Hacker Within workshop

Michigan State University, June 4-5, 2011

iCER and BEACON are co-sponsoring a workshop on programming skills for computational scientists. The workshop will be run by The Hacker Within on June 4-5, 2011, here at MSU! This will be a bootcamp-style course open to the MSU community. Topics covered will include:

  • The Shell
  • Version Control
  • Text Editors
  • Databases
  • Automated Documentation
  • Build Systems
  • Unit Testing
  • Debugging
  • Refactoring

The workshop is free to all, although it is limited to 40 people on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please sign up here.

The workshop will run from ~10am - 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, and lunch will be provided. You will need your own laptop.
